Southeast Missouri State's most touted men's basketball recruit won't suit up for the Redhawks this season.
A source told the Southeast Missourian that Martino Brock will not be admitted to the university for the 2008-09 academic year.
Southeast coach Scott Edgar could not be reached for comment. The university is expected to make an official announcement concerning Brock today.
Brock had been awaiting word from the NCAA, which was reviewing his eligibility. He was not enrolled when Southeast began its fall semester Monday.
The source said the NCAA has not yet notified Southeast of a ruling, but Brock has been denied admission because he failed to meet Southeast academic requirements.
Brock, a 6-foot-5 wing player, attended Nashville Christian Advancement Academy during the 2007-08 school year.
In May, the NCAA placed Nashville Christian Advancement Academy on a list of 51 schools from which it will not recognize diplomas.Brock and Nashville Christian Advancement Academy's three other basketball signees from last season's team were forced to undergo case-by-case academic reviews before the NCAA determined their eligibility.
