NEW MADRID — The Kennett High School girls basketball team has drawn the No. 5 seed for the upcoming SEMO Conference Tournament.

The Indians will play No. 4 Cape Central at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at New Madrid County Central High School — also the site of this weekend’s RiverBend Classic.

Kennett athletic director Jim Vaughan said admission prices will be $5 per person per day, both adults and students.

No. 8 New Madrid County Central will play No. 9 Poplar Bluff at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, in what’s been termed a play-in game.

The winner of that game will play No. 1 Cape Notre Dame Regional at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28.

The loser will play the similar loser of a No. 2/No. 7 match-up between Jackson and Sikeston, which is slated for 8:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 27.

No. 3 Saxony Lutheran squares off against No. 6 Dexter at 7 p.m. Nov. 27.

In last year’s championship, which was played at Kennett High School, Cape Notre Dame topped Jackson 40-30, for the Bulldogs fourth consecutive SEMO Conference title — paced by Tori Rubel, who now plays for the University of Tennessee-Martin.
