Second-seeded Saxony Lutheran rolled into the semifinals by routing No. 7 seed and host Zalma 84-47 in a first-round game at the Mississippi Valley Conference Tournament.

Another opening-round contest saw No. 5 Marquand ease past No. 4 Chaffee 72-58.

Casey Petzoldt led Saxony Lutheran (12-3) with 17 points. Lauren Lueders added 16, Tim Lorenz scored 15, Alex Jauch scored 11, and Grant Lehmann added 10.

Trevin Taylor led Zalma with 12 points, while Josh Barrett scored 10.

Korey Chapman scored 18 points for Chaffee in defeat, while Tyler Graham scored 14.
