Rebecca Bieser
School: Cape Central
Sport: Tennis
Coach: Annette Slattery
Week Report: Bieser, Central's No. 4 singles player, won four singles matches and four doubles matches last week as Cape Central won the Parkway Quad title for the first time in school history Saturday. She posted wins over Parkway Central, Parkway West, Farmington and Sikeston.
Season Report: Bieser, with a win Wednesday, improved to 16-2 in singles play on the season. Bieser, a senior, has won 15 in a row. Her doubles record is 15-3 with Trisha Bennett.
Coach's comments: "She's just tremendous out on the court," Slattery said. "She never gives up on a ball. She's a real fighter. We tease her because it's like she runs a marathon out there. Her opponents get her on the move, but she gets to everything. It looks like she's the one who is worn out at the end, but she's the one who is always on top. She's a very good teammate to her friends and she supports them and they support her. She's a very selfless person. Her cross-court backhand is devastating. She can put it right in the corner. She's probably one of the most competitive people I've ever coached."
