Week Report: Essner, a 5-foot-9 sophomore post player, scored 58 points over three games last week in the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament. The Lady Hawks took second place in the tournament, falling to No. 1 seed Scott County Central 55-49.

Season Report: Essner averages 19 points and 10 rebounds per game for Kelly.

Coach's comments: "She's a real hard-working, dedicated athlete," Finley said. "She's a little undersized for the post position but she makes up for it with hard work. She's definitely our leader on the floor. She's a good kid and she's fun to coach."
