Jennifer Love
School: Jackson
Sport: Track
Coach: Bob Sink
Week Report: Love, a senior, was a three-event winner in last week's SEMO Conference track meet in Poplar Bluff. She won the 100-meter hurdles (16.2), the 300 hurdles (48.2) and anchored the mile relay team which took first (4:13.5). She also posted a personal-best distance of 34-6 in the triple jump to take second place.
Season Report: Love has been virtually untouchable this season in the hurdle events, with the 300 being her strongest race. Love advanced to the state meet last year in the 300 hurdles, but did not make it out of the preliminaries. Her personal best time in the 300 hurdles is 45.7, while her best time in the 100 is 15.5.
Coach's Comments: "She has been steady all the way through," said Sink. "She's a great individual to coach and have to deal with. She's got a good work ethic and does the things you ask her to do. She hasn't equaled her best time yet this year in the 300, but she started slow with nagging injuries and sickness. She's just now started making a move. She's pretty versatile. There's a lot of things she's capable of doing. We ran her in the 100 meters for training purposes and she did well. She scores a lot of points for us and we depend on her a lot. She's been a big contributor for us all three years she's been here. She didn't compete as a freshman."
