Coach: Jerry Grim
Week Report: McCormick, a 5-foot-10 freshman post player, was the only Notre Dame player to score in double figures in both of the Lady Bulldogs' wins in the district tournament. Part of a balanced offense, McCormick scored 11 against Greenville and 12 against Scott City as the Lady Bulldogs won another district title.
Season Report: In 15 varsity starts and 21 games appearances overall, McCormick is averaging eight points and seven rebounds per game. McCormick, the team's leading rebounder, has been in the starting lineup since the HealthSouth Holiday Classic and has recorded several double-doubles.
Coach's Comments: "Deana started out playing on the JV team. I knew at the beginning of the season she'd be up, but we wanted her to earn her way up. She's learning to play the post. She's a person who really wants to learn. She's wanting to play ball at college. She works her tail off to get better at what she does. She's really just learning the post. She's a bright kid. She's smart on the court too and that helps.
