Season report: Schlick, a senior, is 14-0 with 12 pins this season. He took first at the Fox Tournament and first at the Missouri Duals in Jefferson City. Schlick finished sixth in state as a freshman at 103 pounds, third as a sophomore at 103 and sixth last year at 125.

Week report: Schlick lived up to his No. 1 seed by taking first place in the Tiger Classic at 140 pounds and helping the Indians to a fourth-place finish. He finished off Germantown's Michael Mitchel in a 7-0 decision to claim the title.

Coach's comments: "So far, he's been outstanding in the matches and at practice. His work ethic in the room has been positive for the team. I think he's made another level jump from last year to this year. We're sure looking for big things from him. He's had a long career in Jackson wrestling with being in the Optimists League and on the AAU USA team. I hope all the dedication he's put in it pays off his senior year."
