Week Report: Johnson scored 70 points in two games last week against two of the top defensive teams in the region. First, he scored 31 in a loss to Scott City, now ranked No. 2 in Class 2A. A few nights later, he posted 39 points in an upset victory over Portageville, then ranked fifth in 2A.

Season Report: Johnson is the leading scorer in the region, averaging 30.4 points per game. He also averages six assists per contest, meaning he is responsible for 42 points per game. He scored 49 points in the University High Christmas Tournament, establishing a new record.

Coach's Comments: "Jreece is a very fine offensive player," said Wells. "He doesn't have to have a good shooting night to get his points. He can find other ways to score by slashing and getting to the free-throw line. He's a complete player. He plays defense well and is good at getting other players into the fold. He's a fine young man and a fine young athlete. One thing people don't realize is his passing ability. He leads the team in assists."
