ATHETE OF THE WEEK: CYLE HUCK

Weekly Report: Huck, a senior, took first place at 135 pounds in the prestigious 16-team Tiger Classic held at Cape Central. He defeated two-time state champion and three-time all-stater Clint Wolk for the championship.

Season Report: Huck is 14-3 this season and took first in Jackson's division at the Missouri Duals Tournament at Jefferson City. He took fourth at the Fox Tournament. He also took fifth in state as a junior at 130 pounds.

Coach's Comments: "Cyle's a real hard worker and very intense," said Wachter. "He's not extremely emotional and he's pretty consistent and intense. He trains hard during the season and in the offseason. In 4A wrestling, there are a lot of good wrestlers and he's wrestled pretty much all the good wrestlers in the state. He's got as good a chance as anybody to place high in the state tournament. He's beaten several all-staters and to beat Wolk was a big win for him. We think a lot of Clint Wolk and know he's an outstanding wrestler.
