St. Vincent, Jackson and Perryville all won first-round games Thursday at the inaugural Perryville Soccer Invitational. St. Vincent, Jackson and Perryville all won first-round games Thursday at the inaugural Perryville Soccer Invitational.

Jessica Welker scored three first-half goals to lead St. Vincent to a 4-0 victory over Farmington in first-round action.

Megan Wengert stopped three shots to earn the shutout. Shelby Hotop added a goal for St. Vincent (13-2).

St. Vincent will play Fredericktown today in the semifinals. Fredericktown beat Poplar Bluff 5-3.

Jackson also earned a shutout victory with a 10-0 win over Festus.

Randi Kraust scored four goals and assisted on another one. Bobbi Jo Schlick added two goals for the Indians (8-2-1).

Chelsea Dale, Lindsey Poole and Katelyn Myracle added a goal apiece for Jackson. Its other goal came when Festus scored on itself.

Freshman Morgan Riddick earned the shutout as Jackson was forced to play Poole, its regular goalie, in the field because of injuries.

Perryville moved into the semifinals with a 4-0 win over Windsor. The Pirates will face Jackson today in the semifinals.

Nicole Gremaud, Kasey Riney, Ashley Castleberry and Kendra Schilli scored for the Pirates (9-6). Schilli (2), Alicia Kueker and Becca Hanquist had assists.

Chastity Marr made three saves for the shutout.

BASEBALLScott City 17, Bloomfield 0

Blake Dirnberger pitched four scoreless innings and added a three-run home run in a home win. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.

Ryan Modglin had three hits and two RBIs and Simmons added two hits for the Rams (11-5).

Clay Dover delivered a clutch two-run double in the fifth inning to pad the Cubs' lead.

Trenton Moses took the loss for Advance despite going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Oran built an 8-0 lead through six innings and improved to 12-1 with a home victory.

Three of Oran's hits went for extra bases. Jodi Urhahn and Ellen Sikes each had a triple while Cassie Graviett had a double. Urhahn, Sikes and Wendy Eftink each finished with two hits.

Callie Kielhofner picked up the win to improve to 9-1.
