Eller captures men'stitle at Cape C.C.
Ben Eller won the men's club championship Sunday at the Cape Girardeau Country Club, carding a 148 for the two-day tournament.
Eller finished a stroke ahead of Al Spradling and Dale Williams. Spradling was awarded second in a scorecard playoff. Fourth-place finisher John Abercrombie was another shot back at 150.
The A and B flights operated under a handicap format.
Fred Ducharme won A flight and was followed by Bill White Jr. Mel Moore and Ron Unterreiner tied for third.
Al Benton won B flight. Howard Dillard and Steve Slaten tied for second, while Rick Kuntze and Ross Bennett tied for fourth.
Giebler wins Dalhousie'smatch-play tournament
Brevin Giebler won the three-day match play championship Sunday at Dalhousie Golf Club.
Jeff Patton placed second, followed by Ken Swinford, Mark Unger and David Strom. Ian Soutar won the consolation bracket.
