Ford & Sons rolls past Stoddard County
Cape Girardeau's Ford & Sons American Legion team grabbed a 10-0 lead in the first three innings Tuesday and cruised to a 13-7 victory over Stoddard County at Capaha Field.
Jeff Brosey, the first of four pitcher for Cape (15-13, 6-2 district), picked up the win. He allowed two hits in three innings.
Dustin Tatum and Tim Wencewicz each belted three-run home runs for Cape. Tatum went 3-for-4 to lead the 15-hit attack. Seth Hudson, Tyler Schlosser, Matt Wulfers and Aaron Dohogne all added two hits apiece.
Despite playing at home, Cape played the role of the visitor due to a scheduling change. Cape scored five runs in the first, three in the second and two in the third for an insurmountable lead.
