Jones wins tourney at Cape Girardeau C.C.

Marlena Jones took first place in the handicap tournament Thursday at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Mary Ann Vogelsang was second, followed by Betty Michel. There was a five-way tie for fourth place between Mary Ellen Bean, Edna Ruth Fischer, Priscilla Kirby, Deb Mealy and Janet White.

Ross records hole in one at Jaycee Municipal

David Ross of Cape Girardeau used a 5-iron to score a hole in one on the 159-yard hole No. 3 at the Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course on Wednesday.

Doc Cain, Carl Kinnison and Tracy Lemonds witnessed the shot.
