Soccer rules meeting tonight at Notre Dame

A soccer rules meeting for coaches and referees is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. today at Notre Dame Regional High School.

Mealys, Underwoods win couples scramble

The team of Roger and Deb Mealy and Ron and Dana Underwood scored a 29 to win the couples scramble Friday night at Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Frank and Mary Ellen Bean and teammates David and Elizabeth Michel finished second with a score of 31.

Kuper swims in national meet

Jameson Kuper, a senior-to-be at Notre Dame Regional High School, finished with the 32nd-best time Wednesday in preliminaries for the 200-meter breaststroke at the USA Swimming Speedo Junior Championships in Irvine, Calif.

Kuper, representing the Saluki club from Carbondale, Ill., posted a time of 2 minutes, 29.88 seconds.

He did not qualify for the finals, which also included a B final and C final for the top 24 swimmers. The field included 60 swimmers.
