The team of Walter Matthew, Jack Pettit and Chris Curtis won the 13th annual Three-Man Scramble at Bent Creek Golf Course.

The threesome finished with a two-day total of 126, winning a scorecard playoff with the team of Tray Dooley, Mike Newman and Nolan Newman.

Blue Springs wins

Legion state title

The Blue Springs A's repeated as the Missouri American Legion state championship over the weekend, defeating Columbia Post 202 in a pair of tight games in a championship showdown. Blue Springs outlasted Columbia 11-6 in 11 innings in the first game. The A's then pushed across the winning run on a wild pickoff throw with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning for an 11-10 victory in the second game.
