The Southeast Missouri State baseball program continued to add to its recruiting class for next season as junior college pitcher Todd Strahlendorf has signed a national letter of intent.

Strahlendorf, a right-handed pitcher from Santa Rosa (Calif.) Junior College, was 3-4 with a 2.57 ERA as a sophomore this year. He struck out 67 in 77 innings.

"We're real excited about having Todd be a part of our staff," Southeast coach Mark Hogan said. "He's got a great shot to compete for a starting spot on the weekends."

Strahlendorf is the seventh junior college player to sign with the Redhawks.

Three high school players -- all from the area -- also signed. Matt Hester and Brad LaBruyere are Cape Girardeau Central products, while Trenton Moses is from Advance.

"I think we've added some very good players for next season," said Hogan, who credited assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Jeff Dodson for playing a key role in landing the recruiting class.
