Park Hills team wins local slow-pitch tourney
Precision Foundation of Park Hills won the NSA Men's Slow-Pitch Softball Qualifier Tournament on Saturday at Shawnee Park Sports Complex.
Precision Foundation came through the losers bracket and swept Arvin-Meritor of Dexter in the final round. Eight teams competed in the tournament. Kelsey's Regulators of Jackson finishing third and Kelsey's Desperados of Cape Girardeau placing fourth.
Three golfers record first holes in one
Bill Unzicker scored his first hole in one this week at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson. Unzicker aced the 162-yard sixth hole with a 6 iron. Witnesses were Shane Glover, Eddie Rhodes and Sammy Lawson.
Jeff Bierman of Jackson carded his first career ace Saturday at Kimbeland Country Club. Bierman used an 8 iron on No. 4, a par 3 playing 134 yards. Jay Sturms witnessed the shot.
Mark Fowler of Cape Girardeau sank his first career hole in one Saturday at Kimbeland Country Club. Fowler aced No. 6, a 169-yard par 3. Don Fowler witnessed the shot.
