McAlister's, Rude Dog 3-0 in flag football

McAllister's Deli and Rude Dog Pub both improved to 3-0 in their divisions of the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department's Adult Flag Football League.

In Division 1, McAllister's Deli hammered Stooges 34-6.

Rude Dog Pub defeated B&M Aerial in Division 3. Also in Division 3, The Pimps won 39-33 against Buckner Brewsers, and the Renagades defeated TCB 27-6.

Sides Metal also is unbeaten in Division 3, and SEMO Hair leads Division 2 at 3-0 with Paydirt at 2-0.

The lone Division 2 game on the schedule was a 23-19 win for Road Runner against the Dirty Dawgs.

Three-way tie in fall baseball league

The Yankees, A's and Braves head to the final weekend of the SEMO Fall Baseball League tied for first with 6-2 records.

The Yankees split a doubleheader with the Cardinals on Saturday, winning 2-1 and losing 6-4.

Chad Cook pitched a six-hitter to lift the Yankees in the opening game of the doubleheader. Kyle Mitchell scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh for the winning run.

Brooke Naile had two hits for the Yankees.

Lance Young took the loss despite 12 strikeouts.

In the second game, Justin Myers struck out 11 in a complete game victory for the Cardinals.

Sam Sander took the loss despite a complete game with 11 strikeouts.

Both teams had eight hits.

This weekend, the Yankees will play the A's in an attempt to break the tie. The Braves, who hold the tiebreaker of head-to-head play over the A's but not the Yankees, will play the Red Sox.

The league for 15- to 18-year-old boys plays doubleheaders at Jackson City Park.
