Connell cards 5th career ace

Cape Girardeau Country Club professional Jack Connell deposited his fifth hole-in-one Thursday at the club.

Connell used a 7-iron on the 144-yard 13th hole. He also finished the round with a 2-under-par 68.

Witnessing the ace were Mark McDowell, Bill Morgan and Ron Seabaugh.

12-year-old sinks ace

Todd Obergoenner, age 12 of Cape Girardeau, recently turned a round of golf on his family vacation into a memorable event with a hole-in-one.

Playing with his father, Don, and younger brother, Clay, Todd aced the No. 9 hole at the Top of the Rock golf course in Ridgedale, Mo.

Todd hit a wedge on the 102-yard hole.
