Kidd shoots his age at Dalhousie

Forrest Kidd recently accomplished a rare golfing feat by scoring his age at Dalhousie Golf Club. The 72-year-old Kidd shot even-par 36s on both the front and back nines for a round of 72. Witnesses were Ben Cantrell, Ken Swinford and Jack Connell.

Schott records hole-in-one

Cape Girardeau's Harold Schott scored his seventh hole-in-one on the same hole at Kimbeland Country Club.

Schott used a 3-wood to record the ace on hole No. 6, which was playing 155 yards.

Norris Johnson and Bob Freund witnessed the shot.

Boren cards ace at Kimbeland C.C.

Cape Girardeau's Bill Boren scored a hole-in-one on hole No. 6 at Kimbeland Country Club.

Boren used a 6-iron, and the hole was playing 140 yards.

Gordon Feeney, Charlie Menz and Eldon Boswell witnessed the shot.

It was Boren's fourth career hole-in-one.

Bev Metheny and Gail Morris shot a 19 on the first six holes to win the best ball portion of the Ladies Guest Day tournament at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Ann Dombrowski, Angie Kaelin and Ernie Kidd took second with a 21 then won the six-hole alternate shot portion with a 30. Carol Largent and Patsy Blanton were second with a 31.

Harriette Myers and Janice Hoffman won the six-hole scramble portion with a 22. Largent and Blanton were second with a 26.

Brey claims club championship

Judi Brey won the Cape Girardeau Country Club's Women's Golf Association's senior club championship.

Mary Ellen Bean and Pat Strom tied for first in A flight, while Jean Mabrey placed first in C flight.

Garrett team wins morning flight

The team of Bob Garrett, Joe Thomason, Jim McElreath and Sam Birk won the morning championship flight at the 24th annual Friends of Saint Francis benefit golf tournament, which was held at Bent Creek Golf Course.

The team of Bill Tegel, Austin Putty, Bard Womack and Richie Throgmorten took second, while the team of Gerald Jones, Dean Smithmier, Rodney Miller and Jerry Reynolds was third.

The team of Patrick Carron, Lee Clinton, Steve Rozier and Tim Brewer won the morning A flight, while the team of Kevin Patterson, Shawn Patterson, Steve Strup and Jeff Unterreiner was second. The team of Lisa Bjelich, John Leibrecht, Tim Kelley and Norman Glaus placed third.

The team of Drew Martin, Kevin Mulcahy, John Coleman and Josh Lee won the morning B flight title. The team of Rick Fehr, Chris Johnson, Ron LeGrand and Cliff Green took second, while the team of Scott Menkes, Chris Montgomery, Brian Guittar and Pat Gaffney was third.

The team of Donnie Chester, Brent Holmes, Lance Bray and Jeffrey Appleman won the afternoon championship flight, while the team of Steven Bjelich, Jason Siener, Chris Montgomery and Bryan Johnson was second. The team of Bill Tegel, Richie Throgmorten, Scott Higgins and Austin Putty took third.

The team of Janna Crosnoe, Ron Harris, Jaime Howell and Ray Silliman won the afternoon A flight, while the team of James Banken, Sissy Donahue, Eric Fraley and Sally LeGrand finished second. The team of Steve Logel, Rich Stanfill, Andy Strizel and Jeff Thieret placed third.

The team of John East, Angie Kapp, John Wyman and Steve Young won the afternoon B flight crown, while the team of Becka Hollis, Mike Kohlfeld, Scott Ringwald and Dan Todt placed second. The team of Jim Burdiss, Henry Kiser, Bruce Schafer and Emil Schmidt took third.
