Swinford fires sixth ace at Dalhousie

Ken Swinford carded his sixth career hole in one Thursday at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Swinford used a 5-iron to ace No. 13, a par 3 playing 186 yards. It was the second hole in one for Swinford, a Dexter, Mo., resident, on No. 13 and his fifth at Dalhousie. Witnesses were Greg Howard, Ben Cantrell and Ken Carmode.

Dalhousie event crowns winners

Three different formats were used for six holes each last week at the Ladies Guest Day at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Alice Temm and Margaret Sanders won the best ball format; Ann Dombrowski and Brenda Johnson finished first in the alternate shot; and three teams tied for first in the scramble -- Robin Davis and Patty Ralph, Deanna Estes and Judi Brey, and Harriette Myers and Susan Kickham.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Kickham (No. 5), Myers (No. 8), Kiefner (No. 11) and Ralph (No. 13).
