Tony LeGrand of Sikeston, Mo., recently sank his first career hole in one at Kimbeland Country Club in Jackson.

LeGrand got the ace on hole "A" -- a 110-yard par 3 -- during the SEMO Seniors Tournament. Witnesses were Harry White, Ronald Eaker and Miller Moll.

Southeast volleyball falls at Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. -- Southeast Missouri State University's volleyball team fell to 1-10 as host Arkansas State (10-3) posted a 30-18, 30-24, 30-27 victory Tuesday night.

The Otahkians were led in kills by Suzanne Gundlach and Danielle Pegram with 12 each. Gundlach also had nine digs while Emily Scannell recorded 26 assists.

Southeast will now be off until next Tuesday when the Otahkians host Southern Illinois in their first home match of the season.

Steele, Talley post wins in WGA weekly event

Leslie Steele and Shirley Talley were winners in the Women's Golf Association event at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Steele was medalist among 18-hole players. Mary Jane Eftink and Sarah Cochrane tied for second. Play of the day was low net.

Talley won in the nine-hole competition over Sharon Barrows and Janet White. Low putts was the play of the day.

Central soccer game moved to Shawnee

Central High School's boys soccer game Thursday against Poplar Bluff will be played on field No. 12 at Shawnee Park Sports Complex while work continues on Central's new soccer field.

The junior varsity game will begin at 5 p.m. with the varsity to follow.
