Cape Girardeau native Vince Friese finished in ninth place at the men's Moto X Racing final Saturday at the ESPN X Games in Los Angeles.
Friese covered the indoor layout at the Staples Center in 8 minutes, 29.528 seconds. Justin Brayton won the event in 7:59.90.
Friese, who lives in Menifee, Calif., races professionally on the AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross circuits.
The 22-year-old Friese finished a career-best fourth in the 250SX East final standings in 2013. He also ended 12th in the 250SX West standings and 20th in the 450SX standings.
Carolyn Schreckenberg and Tyler Elfrink won last week's 19-team event at the SEMO Horseshoe Association competition at the Jackson Knights of Columbus.
Lachelle Cook and Tom Kluesner won the six-team event at the Oran Jaycees.
