Cox captures club championship

Cody Cox carded a par on hole No. 18 in a sudden-death playoff to win the junior club championship at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Cox shot a 77 to tie with Jake Seabaugh.

Corey Connell finished with an 81, while Gunnar Knudtson, Brady Dixon and Travis Simmons all shot 82s.

Dalhousie team defeats Paducah

The Dalhousie Golf Club team defeated the Country Club of Paducah 13 1/2 to 6 1/2 in a seniors challenge cup tournament.

The Dalhousie team consisted of Ben Cantrell, Ken Swinford, Kevin Ford, Forrest Kidd, David Strom, Jim Riley, Cord Dombrowski, Tim Coad, Bill Morgan and Ron Seabaugh.

Dalhousie won the 4-ball portion 3-2, the Chapman portion 5-0 and the singles 5 1/2 to 4 1/2.

The matches started in 2004 and the series is tied 4-4.

Bean wins weekly medalist honors

Mary Ellen Bean was the medalist and finished first in the Cape Girardeau Country Club's Women's Golf Association's weekly outing.

Pat Strom and Marlena Jones tied for second.

Pricilla Kirby was the nine-hole winner.

Pujol takes first in kids triathlon

Allie Pujol won the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department's 23rd annual youth triathlon.

Pujol covered the course in 31 minutes, 35.70 seconds.

Jacob Bening was the top boys finisher, crossing the line in 39:29.65.
