Schwartz, Miller win horseshoe event

Yvonne Schwartz and Jeff Miller won the SEMO Horseshoe Association event Friday at Scott City Park.

Lachelle Cook and Dennis McMillan placed second in the 15-team competition.

Cook and Randy Senciboy won the 10-team event Sunday at the Oran Knights of Columbus. Ron LeGrand and Bob Burnett finished second.

After an open weekend, competition will resume Aug. 24-25 at the Missouri Knights of Columbus state tournament in Jackson.

Bean, Jones, Morris tie at WGA competition

Mary Ellen Bean, Marlena Jones and Kathy Morris tied for low net at the Women's Golf Association's event last week at Cape Girardeau Country Club.
