Pobst, Backfisch snare horseshoe title

The team of Amy Pobst and Glen Backfisch took first place at the Southeast Missouri Horseshoe Association's tournament at the Scott City Knights of Columbus.

The team of Joe Bean and Randy Senciboy finished second while the team of Melody Williams and Lester Powell was third.

The team of Carolyn Schreckenberg and John Vandeven won the title at the tournament at the Backyard Club.

Terrie Rose and Greg Johnson placed second while Pobst and Senciboy were third.

Middleton team wins member tourney

The team of Keith Middleton, Mike Edwards, Ron Underwood and Bill White won the four-man team title at the Cape Girardeau Country Club's member-member tournament.

The team of Tom Benton, Randy Penrod, Mark Kneer and Jim Maxwell finished second while the team of Phil Moore, Bruce Fee, Forrest Kidd and Pete Ulmer was third.

Tim Kelley and Steve Logel recorded the low scramble score, low alternate shot score, low two-man two-day title and tied for the low modified Chapman score.

Pete Ulmer and Forrest Kidd tied for the low modified Chapman score.

Steve Byrd and Butch Smiley recorded the low best ball score.

Two teams tie atop standings

The team of Lyell Davis and Clay Crosson and the team of Gary Seymour and Robert Denton both shot 64s to tie for first place in the two-man handicap best ball tournament at Dalhousie Golf Club.

The team of George Landre and Jeff DeWitt shot a 65 for third.
