Jim Childress of Cape Girardeau made a rare double eagle Wednesday at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Childress holed a 235-yard 3-wood on the 18th hole, a par 5 playing 535 yards. Bryan Johnson witnessed the shot.

Kelley scores hole-in-one

Tim Kelley used a 6-iron to ace hole No. 2 at Cape Girardeau Country Club.

The hole was playing 164 yards.

Bruce Fee, Steve Slaten and Butch Holyfield witnessed the shot.

Senciboy, Cook team for victory

Randy Senciboy and Lachelle Cook joined forces to win the SEMO Horseshoe Association's nine-team tournament at the Oran Jaycees.

Goose Glastetter and Yvonne Schwartz took second, while Beaver Glastetter and Joe Bean were third.

The team of Jeff Miller and Cook won the 21-team tournament at the Benton American Legion.

Larry Glastetter and Susie Bohannon were second, while Glen Backfisch and Carolyn Schreckenberg grabbed third.

The next tournament is scheduled for Saturday at the Scott City Knights of Columbus.

Giebler, Bishop tie for first place

Brevin Giebler and Bill Bishop shared first place in the 18-hole match play against par tournament at Dalhousie Golf Club.

The pair both finished at 6-up.

Jim Rust and Rob Erlbacher tied for third at 5-up.

Creve Coeur wins Legion zone title

Creve Coeur had a dominant run through the Zone 4 Senior American Legion baseball tournament that began in Cape Girardeau and ended in St. Louis.

Creve Coeur routed Ballwin 11-2 on Monday to win the championship. The team outscored its three tournament opponents by a combined 32-7.

The tournament final was scheduled for Sunday at Capaha Field but got rained out. It was decided that the two St. Louis squads would finish the event in their home area.

Creve Coeur (34-12) earns a berth in the state tournament that begins Thursday in Sedalia, Mo.
