Stoverink wins two horseshoe tourneys

Wesley Stoverink was on the winning team in both of the SEMO Horseshoe Association events held last weekend.

Stoverink teamed with Ron LeGrand to win the 13-team competition Saturday at the Scott City Knights of Columbus. Carolyn Schreckenberg and Randy Senciboy placed second.

Stoverink and Lachelle Cook claimed first Sunday at the Backyard Club. Kelcee DaVault and Mike DaVault took second.

This week's events will be Saturday at the Oran Jaycees and Sunday at the Jackson Knights of Columbus.

Brey earns medalist at WGA competition

Judi Brey was the medalist at the Women's Golf Association's weekly competition at Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Mary Ellen Bean finished first in play of the day, which was Crier's Tournament. Shirley Moore placed second, while Irene Thomas, Beth Mapes and Sue Layton tied for third.
