Seymours, Kohls combine to win title
The team of Gary and Martha Seymour and Arch and Nancy Kohl combined to shoot a 197 to win the Dalhousie Couples Member-Guest tournament.
The tournament was a two-day event, a two-ball shamble the first day and a one-ball shamble the second.
The team of Cord and Ann Dombrowski and Jeremy and Brenda Vandenbrook took second with a 201. The team of Andy and Melissa Dawson and David and Beth Sykes was third with a 202.
Gators finish seventh at meet
The Gators swim team finished seventh at the Seahawk Invitational swimming meet.
Gabby Vieira led the team by placing first in the girls 9 and 10 division with 82 points. She took first in the 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke and 50 butterfly. She was second in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley.
Austin Hobbs took second in the boys 9 and 10 division with 76 points. He won the 50 breaststroke and 200 individual medley. He took second in the 50 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly and 100 freestyle.
Kyleigh Troxel finished third in the 400 individual medley in the girls 13 to 14 division.
Jackson Legion freshman team falls
The Jackson Post 158 American Legion freshman team lost to Ste. Genevieve 7-5 in the state tournament Saturday to see its season end.
Jackson finished third in the tournament.
Clayton Baker took the loss for Jackson. Mason Sander collected three hits.
Jackson Babe Ruth team finishes 21-12
Jackson lost to New Madrid 7-3 in the state Senior Babe Ruth baseball tournament, ending Jackson's season.
Garrett Fritsche had two hits to lead Jackson's offensive attack.
Aaron Horrell took the loss on the mound.
Jackson (21-12) took a 1-0 lead after one inning, but New Madrid rallied and held on for the win.
Miller, Senciboy win horseshoe tournament
Brad Miller and Randy Senciboy teamed to win the Southeast Missouri Horseshoe Association tournament in Scott City.
The team of Rose Kern and Allen Benton took second, while Lachelle Cook and Todd Elfrink were third.
Cook teamed with Danny Williams to win the tournament at the Backyard Horseshoe Club.
Bob Burnett and Carolyn Schreckenberg were second, while Mike Massa and Terri Rose finished third.
Borgfield races to victory in Benton
Tim Borgfield crossed the line first to win the pro-4 division at the Benton RacePark on Friday.
Greg Casey won the pure street division, Jeff Hall Jr. won the modifieds and Todd Hall was victorious in the late models division.
