Siebert to compete at national rodeo

Colby Siebert, a recent graduate of Jackson High School, will compete at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Farmington, N.M.

Siebert, who lives in Millersville, will compete for the Illinois high school team in the event, which runs from Sunday through July 25.

She finished 33rd in barrel racing (35.659 average) and 43rd in pole bending (41.815 average) at last year's NHSFR.

McClellan winsIndependence Day 5K

Wynn McClellan covered the 5-kilometer course in 16 minutes, 13 seconds to win the Independence Day 5K run/walk at HealthPoint Fitness in Jackson.

Mary Dohogne was the top female finisher, crossing the line in 19:55.
