Jesse Schott shot a 74 to win the boys 14- and 15-year olds 18-hole tour division at the PGA Gateway Junior Series golf meet Monday at Sikeston Country Club.

Drew Hosp finished second (75), while Gunnar Knudtson was third (76).

Brett Slaten took first in the boys 16- to 19-year olds 18-hole tour division with a 72. Evan Deere was second (74), followed by Ryan Richardson (76).

Pettet team captures title

The team of Tammi Pettet, Jack Pettet, Brevin Giebler and Jim Childress shot a 54 to take first place in the championship flight at the Southeast Missouri State third annual Team Swish golf tournament at Dalhousie Golf Club.

The team of Jim Burnett, Paul Probst, Garrett Williams and John Wondel was second (57), while the team of Mike Brawley, Ron Bowers, Craig Horkey and Tim Sadler was third (57).

In A flight, the team of Keith Boeller, Brent Anderson, Brad Althenthal and Greg Klund shot a 63 for first place. The team of Bill Tegel, Ian Soutar, Joshua Hubbard and Simouda Mahathath was second (63) and the team of Patrick Clark, Matt Smith, Shawn Spruill and Steve Dill third (64).

Leightons cruise at Capaha Classic

Roy Leighton covered the 5-kilometer course in 17 minutes, 4 seconds to win the 22nd annual Capaha Classic 5K.

Billy Leighton was second in 17:09.

Szandra Pal was the top female finisher in 20:19.

William Zoughaib won the children's 1-mile run (6:33).
