The Scott County Junior Legion baseball team dropped a pair of high-scoring games Tuesday in Scott City.

St. Vincent scored 12 runs in the sixth inning in an 18-17 win over Scott County in the opener. Kyle Fitzgerald and Jordan Griggs both had three hits for Scott County, which had scored 11 runs in the second inning. Fitzgerald had three RBIs, while Griggs had four stolen bases. Trent Pobst added two hits and five RBIs.

Jordan Kleussner took the loss for Scott County, which committed eight errors.

St. Vincent won the nightcap 11-9. Gavin Pobst pitched one inning and took the loss.

Pobst had three hits for Scott County (1-3), while Dillon Schwartz had three RBIs.

McLauren team wins Rotary scramble

The team of Cord McLauren, Mike Murphy and Brian Halligan shot a 56 to win the Cape West Rotary and Southeast Missouri State Scholarship Fundraiser four-person scramble Monday at Dalhousie Golf Club.

The team of Matt Vancil, Michael Williams, Kyle Christian and Corey Mills finished one stroke back. Tim Porch, Matt Porch, Chris Marchi and Blake McDowell shot 59 to place third.

Gregg Hollabaugh, Jeff Clapp, Jeff Hotop and Roger Tolliver finished first in A flight with a 68.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Jay Hooland (No. 5), Murphy (No. 8), Robert Vazquez (No. 11) and Williams (No. 13). John Layton and Olivia Coomer won the longest drives.
