Central Methodist senior outfielder Erika Reinagel, a Notre Dame Regional High School graduate, has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association NAIA All-Midwest Region second team.
Reinagel, who batted leadoff for the Eagles, ranked in the top 10 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference in hits, triples and stolen bases. Reinagel, All-HAAC all four seasons, moved to the top of Central Methodist's career list for runs scored. She also finished fourth on the school's career list for stolen bases.
Paula Bierman and Carol Weinrich took first place in the best-ball competition held by the Wednesday Night Ladies League at Kimbeland Country Club.
Jill Braswell and Jennifer McLemore placed second, while Sharon McCune and Joan Clark finished third. Braswell won the closest-to-the-pin competition, while Elvia Purcival won longest putt.
Lachelle Cook and Wesley Stoverink won the recent horseshoe competition at the Scott City Knights of Columbus. Cori Stoverink and Lester Powell finished second.
Stoverink and Randy Senciboy won the event at the Jackson Knights of Columbus. Carolyn Schreckenberg and John Keller finished second.
Phil Hager of Jackson fired his second career hole-in-one recently at Kimbeland Country Club.
Hager used a 7-iron to ace No. 8, a par 3 playing 185 yards. Bob Wittenborn witnessed the shot.
Charlie Menz of Chaffee, Mo., carded his second career ace recently at Kimbeland Country Club.
Menz used a 3-hybrid to ace No. 8, a par 3 playing 185 yards. Norris Johnson, Gordon Feeney and Ron Unterreiner witnessed the shot.
Jon Wondel of Jackson carded his first hole-in-one recently at Kimbeland Country Club.
Wondel used an 8-iron to ace No. 4, a par 3 playing 146 yards. Witnesses were Loy Welker and Dennis Roth.
Gabe Wheeler of Sikeston shot a 73 to win the boys ages 16 to 19 18-hole tour division at the Gateway Junior Series competition Wednesday at Hidden Trails Country Club in Dexter, Mo.
Kyle Sutton was six shots behind in second.
Sarah Bell won the girls 18-hole tour division with a 79, finishing three shots ahead of Samantha Hightower.
Brian Whitson won the boys 14-15 18-hole tour division with an 85.
