Southeast football holds golf tourney

Jeff Appleman, Donnie Chester, Brent Holmes and Brad Elfrink won the Championship flight of the recent TEAM Southeast golf tournament.

The annual fundraiser for the Southeast Missouri State football program was held at Kimbeland Country Club in Jackson.

Brock Alspaugh, Cory Daniel, Pat Young and Danny Dohogne were second; and Sam Birk, Tim Goodman, Bob Kinder and Robert Lukefahr were third.

Dan Todt, Doc Cain, Matt Beussink and Tim Maevers won A flight, followed by the teams of Dickey Nutt, Mark Wilhelm, Bob Wilhelm, Hoyt Wilhelm; and Dave Reiminger, Bill Stearns, Mark Dumey, Butch Wright; and Tom Critchlow.

Tom Hecht, Van Hitt, Bill King and Zach Walton won B flight, followed by the squads of Bill Ray, Matt Scheible, Joel Cracchiolo, Duane Scheible; and Matt Porch, Tim Porch, Brian Liable and Darryl Dunn.

Todd Centers, Todd Conklin, Brad Elfrink, Dan Kruempel, Doug Wessell and Butch Wright were closest to the pin winners.Todd Conklin and Danny Dohogne were longest putt winners.

Bean earns medalist at WGA event

Mary Ellen Bean claimed the medalist honor at the Women's Golf Association event at Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Bean also won the play of the day -- Crier's pick. Betty Michel was second.
