Squaws' Hoeh chosen player of the year
St. Vincent senior Caitlin Hoeh was chosen as the girls soccer player of the year for the Jefferson County Conference.
Hoeh led the conference in scoring with 75 points. She is the conference career scoring leader with 109 goals and 27 assists.
Hoeh was among three players selected all-conference first team for St. Vincent (16-9), joining senior Chelsey Brown and junior Amanda Carron.
Cape A's split two games at Jackson
The Cape Girardeau Senior Babe Ruth A's split a doubleheader at Jackson Sunday, losing the opener 3-1 and winning the finale 7-3.
In the victory, Cape (10-2) received a two-hit complete game from Tim Davis, who struck out 10, walked two and allowed just one earned run. Lucas Presson had two hits and three RBIs while Jeff Brosey and Chris Daniel both added two hits.
Brosey had two hits in the opener. Jared Jinkerson pitched all six innings, allowing six hits. Chad Crowden was the winner.
