Haas takes first in A flight

JoEllen Haas finished in first place in the A flight during the weekly Cape Chip A Ways golf outing.

Dottie Gill won the B flight, while Linda Williams had the low putts and Jan Keefe had the play of the day.

Kidd, Kuntze team for win

The team of Ernie Kidd and Joyce Kuntze joined to win the twilight scramble during the Cape Girardeau Country Club's Women's Golf Association's weekly outing.

Judi Brey and Luanne Kiefner tied for medalist with Kiefner and Irene Thomas.

Mary Ellen Bean took second, while there was a third-place tie between Brey, Marcia Wagner, Janet White and Mary Ann Vogelsang.

Post 63 Junior Legion splits doubleheader

The Cape Girardeau Plaza Tire Post 63 Junior American Legion baseball team split a doubleheader with the St. Louis Pirates on Wednesday night.

Post 63 won the first game 7-3 behind Josh Meyer's pitching.

Eric Allen had two hits in the win.

Post 63 dropped the second game 5-1. Jamie Pickel took the loss.
