Johnson tops at Kimbeland

Barbara Johnson was the medalist Thursday in the Kimbeland Ladies Golf League.

Play of the day was "Best score on the par-4s." Johnson won the championship flight, Dorothy Holland in the A flight and Janis Gilbert in the B flight.

Trio wins ladies tourney

The team of Vickie McKinney, Priscilla Kirby and Sarah Cochrane finished first in the Cape Girardeau Country Club Ladies Day White Elephant Tournament on Thursday. The second-place team consisted of Beth Mapes, Mary Sue Layton and Deb Mealy.

Closest to the pin winners were: Linda Tewis (No. 2), Pat Strom (Nos. 6 and 16), Brenda Vanden Brook (No. 8), Sarah Cochrane (No. 11) and Judi Brey (No. 13).
