Southeast softball visits Eastern Illinois today
Southeast Missouri State University's softball team will try to stay in the upper part of the Ohio Valley Conference standings today when the Otahkians visit Eastern Illinois for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
The Otahkians are 7-18 overall and 3-2 in OVC play, good for fourth place in the eight-team league. The Panthers are 5-22 overall and a last-place 0-5 in the OVC.
Following today's games, the Otahkians visit first-place Tennessee Tech (24-10, 7-1) for a three-game series this weekend.
Southeast tennis team falls to Tenn.-Martin
Southeast's women's tennis team won just 19 games the entire match Tuesday as Tennessee-Martin rolled to an 8-1 victory over the host Otahkians.
The Skyhawks improved to 4-12. The Otahkians fell to 2-6.
Southeast's lone victories -- one in singles and one in doubles -- came on defaults.
Swinford sinks first hole in one at Dalhousie
Ken Swinford of Jackson made his first hole in one April 2 at Dalhousie Golf Club. The 174-yard shot came on the 11th hole with a 6-iron.
Witnesses were Mark McDowell, Todd Ladd and Darrell James.
The hole in one also was the first made on the 11th hole of the new course.
