Former Central swimmer breaks world record
Susan Beth Scott, a former swimmer at Central, broke the world record in the 400-meter freestyle Thursday night at the U.S. Paralympic swimming trials at the University of Minnesota.
Scott finished in 4 minutes, 40.12 seconds, which broke a 12-year record.
Scott has been living and training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The trials continue through today, and the U.S. Paralympic team will be announced Sunday.
