Baseball Hall inducteesto be honored March 24

The 24th annual Southeast Missouri Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame banquet will honor eight inductees.

The banquet is set for 7 p.m. March 24 at the Clinton Building, 501 Campanella Drive in Sikeston.

Among the inductees are Edgar Rellergert of Jackson, Steve Shelton of Jackson and Raymond Lewis of Jackson.

Also heading to the hall this year are Victor Adams of Fisk, David McClarty of Lilbourn, Jerry Holland of Bertrand, Bob Johnson of Poplar Bluff and Harold Norman of Dexter.

The speaker at the banquet will be former St. Louis Cardinals player John Kopchak.

Tickets are available at the door and also from board members, a group that includes Bob Wachter of Chaffee and Homer Dickmann of Cape Girardeau.

Mocherman records aceat Kimbeland's 12th

Roger Mocherman recorded his first career hole in one last week at Kimbeland Country Club in Jackson.

Mocherman used a 9-iron to ace the 90-yard 12th hole. The Cape Girardeau resident has played golf for more than 40 years.

Witnesses were Harold Schott, Bob Hedden and Bill Clark.
