Southeast pitching coach takes position at Stetson
Southeast Missouri State University assistant baseball coach Jeremy Tyson has left the program to become an assistant coach at Stetson University in DeLand, Fla.
Tyson, a Southeast assistant for four seasons, was the Indians' pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. He will have both duties at Stetson.
During Tyson's tenure with the Indians, they led the Ohio Valley Conference in earned-run average and had the league's pitcher of the year three times.
Tyson joins a Stetson program that went 41-24 this year, lost in a regional championship game and had five players drafted.
"We're going to miss Jeremy, but it's a good move for him," Southeast coach Mark Hogan said. "He did a fantastic job for us recruiting as well as taking care of the pitching staff."
Hogan said he hopes to fill Tyson's position soon.
