Davis, Vieira set Gator records

Brogan Davis and Gabriela Vieira combined to set seven Gator Swim Team records in the Gator Great Times Invitational last weekend.

Davis lowered two of his own records in the boys 11 and 12 age division in winning the 50-yard backstroke (29.67 seconds) and 100 backstroke (1:02.72).

Vieira set team records in the girls 13 and 14 division in winning the 1,000 freestyle (10:13.65), 1,650 freestyle (17:20.71) and 200 backstroke (2:01.90). Her times in the 1,000 freestyle and 200 backstroke also set new standards in the club's Open category.

First place -- Jacob Bening (100 back, 400 IM, 500 free, 50 back); Brogan Davis (100 back, 100 fly, 100 IM, 50 back, 50 fly); Ava Duncan (25 breast, 25 fly, 25 free, 50 free); Samuel Hahs (1,000 free); Phoebe Law (100 IM, 200 free, 200 IM); Caitlyn Palmer (200 IM, 50 free); Madeline Siefert (200 breast); Emma Summers (200 free); Kyleigh Troxel (1,000 free, 1,650 free, 200 fly, 200 free, 400 IM, 500 free); Gabby Vieira (1,000 free, 100 back, 100 fly, 100 free, 1,650 free, 200 back, 200 fly, 200 free, 400 IM, 500 free); Helen Wojdylo (100 breast, 200 breast).

Second place -- Payton Beck (100 back); Austin Hobbs (100 breast, 200 breast); Amanda Mabry (1,000 free); Jack Maxton (100 IM); Cameron Mejean (100 free, 200 free, 25 back, 25 breast, 25 free, 50 free); Tysen Miller (100 breast, 50 breast); Morgan Morris (100 free, 1650 free, 200 fly, 500 free); Elizabeth Nguyen (100 breast); Kaleb Posey Jr (25 fly).

Third place -- Tyler Alsdorf (25 back, 25 free); Joseph Janisse (100 breast, 400 IM); Peyton Livingston (25 back); Morgan Maguire (200 fly, 500 free); Lizzie Schmidt (200 breast).

Welker places first in Plantation tourney

Kelly Welker of Perryville, Mo., claimed first place in the girls 15 to 19 age division at the Plantation junior golf tournament at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Welker had rounds of 99 and 90 for a 189 total.

Corey Connell of Cape Girardeau (82-85--167) finished third in boys 16 to 19, while Carson Miles of Advance, Mo., (98-95--193) finished third in boys 10 and 11.
