Litzelfelner wins Plantation event

Jack Litzelfelner of Jackson fired rounds of 72 and 75 to win the Plantation Junior Tour event over the weekend at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Litzelfelner finished four shots ahead of both Ethan Leucke (75-76) and Matt Echelmeier (78-73) in the age 14 to 19 division.

Leucke had finished runner-up to Litzelfelner at the Class 3 state golf tournament in May while playing for Warrenton High School. Litzelfelner, now a sophomore at Notre Dame, edged Leucke by a stroke.

The Plantation tournament included a hole-in-one by Reilly Ahearn of St. Louis. Ahearn used an 8-iron to ace No. 5, a par 3 playing 145 yards. Kobe Franklin and Paul Henken witnessed the shot.

Viers fires ace at Dalhousie

Tom Viers recorded his second career hole-in-one at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Viers used a 7-iron to hole out on No. 13, a par 3 playing 155 yards. Witnesses were Phil Cantoni, Nick Cantoni and Ian Soutar.
