Local Maryville soccer players earn honors

Perryville graduate Amber Hacker earned a spot on the all-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference second team as a member of the Maryville University women's soccer team.

Hacker led the team with 11 goals and added five assists. She also earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine all-District VII academic third team.

In men's soccer, Notre Dame graduate Andrew Buelow earned honorable mention on the all-SLIAC team.

McClellan, Davis tie for first in race

Wynn McClellan and Logan Davis finished in a tie for first place in the Point to Point 9.5-mile race, from Cape Girardeau to Jackson, on Sunday.

McClellan and Davis covered the course in 58 minutes, 34 seconds.

Julie Wunderlich won the women's race in 1:09:32.

The team of Jared Tanz, Michele Tanz and Chad Sierman was the first relay team done, finishing in 1:06:15.
