St. Vincent falls to Valle in district semifinals
IRONTON, Mo. -- St. Vincent pushed top-seeded Valle to the limit Thursday in a three-game district semifinal loss at Arcadia Valley High School.
Valle won 15-9, 12-15, 15-9 in the Class 2, District 3 semifinal to end St. Vincent's season at 11-18-2.
"They left everything they had on the floor, so I can't be dissappointed," St. Vincent coach Rick Meyer said.
Seniors led the way for St. Vincent. Chelsey Brown had 12 kills and Dani Emmendorfer had 22 assists. Mary-Beth Reiss had six kills and two blocks and Sierra Paulus had eight kills and two blocks.
Former Southeast player hired as assistant
Former Southeast Missouri State University softball standout Tami Hebert has been hired as an assistant coach at her alma mater.
Hebert was a four-year starter for the Otahkians, completing her eligibility in 2000, and she also played two years for Southeast's soccer team.
Hebert served as a student assistant softball coach at Southeast in 2001 and last year she was a graduate assistant coach in softball and soccer at Southwest State in Minnesota.
"I'm pleased to have Tami back at Southeast and on our coaching staff," Southeast coach Lana Richmond said. "She has been very loyal to our program"
