* Jackson boys camps: Jackson will host boys basketball camps at the high school. A shooting camp for players in grades 3 through 7 will be Monday to July 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost: $50 if preregistered; $55 at the door. A little dribblers camp for players in grades kindergarten through 2 will be Aug. 3 to 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost: $40 if preregistered, $45 at the door. n Capaha Classic: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will host the 22nd annual Capaha Classic 5K run, children's 1-mile run and 1-mile fitness walk Saturday. The 5K course will wind through the rolling hills of residential Cape Girardeau, while the children's run is a loop around Capaha Park. Cost: $16 until Friday; $20 on race day. n Jackson Homecomer: The Jackson Homecomer 5K will take place July 21 at 7 p.m. The 1-mile youth race will begin at 6:30 p.m. The races will start at the American Legion baseball field at the corner of Washington and Union streets. Packets should be picked up at the American Legion baseball field parking lot July 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Cost: $8 by July 17; $10 on race day. Players must be 4 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2009 to play in the pre-kindergarten division. Divisions range from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade for boys and girls. n Juniors tournament and league: There will be a juniors league Saturday mornings at Central High School. Any player age 10 to 18 who can serve, rally and score is eligible to participate. Triathlon
n Trail of Tears triathlon: The Trail of Tears triathlon is scheduled for Sept 12 at Trail of Tears State Park. The course consists of a half-mile swim, 15-mile bike ride and 4-mile run. The race begins at 9 a.m. Cost: $35 for individuals and $40 for teams before Sept. 1; $45 for individuals and $50 for teams after Sept. 1. Non-USAT members must buy a one-day membership for $10.
