Basketball
* Jackson camps: Jackson boys basketball coach Darrin Scott will hold individual skills camps. There will be a camp Aug. 1 to 4 at the high school. Players in grades kindergarten to 2 will go from 8:30 to 10 a.m., players in grades 3 to 6 will go from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and players in grades 7 and 8 will go from 1 to 3 p.m. Cost: $40 for preregistered and $50 at the door.
Football
* Central Junior High camp: The Central Junior High camp for football will be Monday to July 28 at the Central Junior High School. The camp is free for incoming students in grades 7 and 8. Camp hours are 9 to 11 a.m. Info: Terry Kitchen, 651-6246, or 334-2923.
* Free football camp: The fourth annual SEMO Mean Machine youth football camp will be held today to Saturday at Arena Park. The free camp for boys entering grades 3 to 6 will be conducted from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day. Instructors will include Southeast Missouri State football coach Tony Samuel and Redhawks players. The camp will address all aspects of the game. Participants can register at the camp. Info: George Foster, 275-1332.
Golf
* Jackson Tribal Council tournament: The Jackson Tribal Council will hold a four-person scramble July 29 at Kimbeland Country Club. The tournament will begin at 1 p.m. after a noon lunch. Cost: $90 per person, $360 per team. Info: Wayne Turley, 243-5168.
Softball
* Southeast camps: The Southeast Missouri State softball program will hold its summer camps Aug. 3 and 4. An all skills individual camp, for ages 8 through 18, will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $35 per day. A team camp, for ages 13 and older, will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $10 per day per player. Individuals must register with a team. Space is limited to 10 teams and each team is guaranteed two games. Registration forms are available for download at gosoutheast.com/camps.
