Basketball

* Saxony Lutheran boys camps: Saxony Lutheran will host boys basketball camps at the high school. A camp for boys entering grades 4 to 6 will be from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. Monday to Thursday. * Notre Dame boys camps: Notre Dame coach Kevin Roberts will host basketball camps at the high school. The camp for players in kindergarten or first grade will be from 8 to 9 a.m. July 12 to 16. Cost: $50 per person, which includes a T-shirt. The camp for players in grades 2 to 4 will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 12 to 16. Cost: $65 per person, which includes a T-shirt. The camp for players in grades 5 to 8 will be from 1 to 3 p.m. July 12 to 16. Cost: $65 per person, which includes a T-shirt. There will be a shooting and ball handling camp for players in grades 6 to 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Cost: $80, which includes a T-shirt and Bulldogs basketball. Football

* Central camps: Central coach Rich Payne will host football camps for players entering grades 9 to 12 at the high school. There will be a camp from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 19 to 23. There will be a camp from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 26 to 30.

n Central Junior High camp: A free football camp for boys entering grades 7 and 8 will be conducted at the Central Junior High School. The camp will be 9 to 11 a.m. July 26 to 29. Info: 334-2923.

* Youth camp: A football camp for children entering grades 3 to 6 will be held Monday to Friday at Arena Park in Cape Girardeau. The free camp will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., and campers should wear a T-shirt and shorts. Info: Coach Foster, 275-5223.

Golf

* Southeast women's basketball tournament: The fourth annual Team Swish golf tournament, a fundraiser for the Southeast Missouri State women's basketball program, will be played July 19 at Dalhousie Golf Club. The four-person scramble begins with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, following lunch at 11:30 a.m. Entry fee: $100 per individual. * Four-person scramble: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will host the 17th annual four-person golf scramble July 10 at the Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Cost: $160 per team and carts are $12 per person. Entry fee must be paid by 5 p.m. July 7. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. * Hospital tournament: The Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation's 16th annual golf tournament will take place July 16 at Cape Girardeau Country Club. It is a four-person scramble. Info: 986-6623.

Miscellaneous

* Central Junior High physicals: Physicals for Central Junior High School students who plan to participate in athletics will be given from 1 to 3 p.m. July 13 in the nurse's office at the school. Cost: $20. Info: 334-2923.

Running/Track

n Capaha Classic 5K: The annual Capaha Classic 5K Run and Children's One-Mile Run will be held July 10. The one-mile run is for children ages 6 to 12. Cost: $12 before Wednesday, $16 Wednesday to July 9, $20 race day. Info: Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department, 339-6340.

* Jackson cross country camp: A free cross country camp will be held this summer by Jackson High School coach Andrea Talley for boys and girls entering grades 6 to 12. * Central camps: There will be a camp for players entering grades 9 to 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 26 to 29. Cost: $55, which includes T-shirt. Deadline: Thursday.

* Special Olympics districts: The 14th annual Special Olympics district softball tournament will take place July 10 at Shawnee Park. Opening ceremonies will begin at 3 p.m. and competition will start at 4 p.m. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact the Southeast Area Special Olympics, 339-6733.

Swimming

* Central camps: Central coach Dayna Powell will host swimming camps at the Southeast Missouri State aquatics center. There will be a camp for swimmers entering grades 9 to 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 18 to 22. Cost: $50. There will be a camp for swimmers entering grades 4 to 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. July 18 to 22. Cost: $50.

Tennis

* Junior tennis league: Juniors ages 10 to 18 who are able to serve, rally and score are eligible to play in the free tennis league. Participation is on a drop-in basis. League play runs from 9 to 11 a.m. each Saturday through July at the Central High School courts. Info: Donna Ryan, 332-1614.
