Camps

Southeast camps: Southeast Missouri State will hold a variety of sports camps. Camps offered will be for baseball, men's and women's basketball, football, gymnastics, soccer, softball and volleyball. All the camp information can be found on the Southeast athletics department website at gosoutheast.com.

Central Junior High camps: The Central Junior High will hold camps during the summer at the school. The wrestling camp will run from 9 to 11 a.m. July 9 to 13. The football camp will run from 9 to 11 a.m. July 23 to 26. All the camps are free. Info on any camp: 651-6246.

Central boys basketball camps: Central boys basketball coach Drew Church will hold camps at the high school today to Thursday. The camp for boys in kindergarten through fourth grade will run from 8 to 10 a.m., while the camp for boys in grades 5 to 8 will go from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost: $50. Info: capetigers.com.

Notre Dame camps: Notre Dame coaches will hold a variety of camps at the high school. A baseball hitting camp for grades 4 to 8 will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday and June 19. Cost: $40. A baseball pitching and catching camp for grades 4 to 8 will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 20 and 21. Cost: $40. A boys basketball camp for kindergarten and first-graders will run from 8 to 9 a.m. July 9 to 13. Cost: $60. A boys basketball camp for grades 2 to 4 will run from 9 to 11 a.m. July 9 to 13. Cost: $70. A boys basketball camp for grades 5 to 8 will run from 1 to 3 p.m. July 9 to 13. Cost: $70. A basketball shooting/ballhandling camp for grades 6 to 8 will run from 1 to 4 p.m. June 25 to 28. Cost: $80. A boys and girls soccer camp for kindergarten to second-graders will run from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Monday to June 22. Cost: $40. A boys and girls soccer camp for grades 3 to 6 will run from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday to June 22. Cost: $40. A boys and girls soccer camp for grades 5 to 8 will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday to June 21. Cost: $60. A softball hitting camp for grades 4 to 8 will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday and June 19. Cost: $35. A softball pitching and catching camp for grades 4 to 8 will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon June 19 and 20. A volleyball camp for grades 6 to 8 will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 25 to 29. Cost: $70. Saxony Lutheran girls basketball camps: Saxony Lutheran girls basketball coach Sam Sides will hold camps at the high school July 9 to 12. The camp for girls entering grades 4 to 8 will go from 4 to 5:30 p.m., while girls entering grades 9 to 12 will go from 6 to 8 p.m. Cost: $45. Info: Sam Sides, 204-7555.

Golf

RSVP/VIC tournament: The 14th annual Retired Senior Volunteer Program Volunteer Intergenerational Center golf tournament will be July 20 at the Cape Girardeau Jaycee Municipal Golf Course. The four-person scramble will start at 1 p.m. The tournament is limited to 25 teams. Cost: $75 per person, which includes lunch at noon. Info: 335-7555 or 887-3664.

Food Bank tournament: The Southeast Missouri Food Bank's Full Course Golf Classic will take place Aug. 6 at Dalhousie Golf Club. Lunch starts at noon and the four-scramble begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Cost: $125 per person, which includes a cart and lunch. Info: 651-0400.

Miscellaneous

Sports physicals: Summer sports physicals will be offered at the Central Junior High from 1 to 3 p.m. June 28 and 10 a.m. to noon July 17. Athletes must have a parent's signature on the physical form. Cost: $20. Info: 651-6246.

Running

Jackson cross country camps: Jackson High School, Jackson Junior High and Jackson Intermediate School will hold a free cross country camp for boys and girls entering grades 6 to 12. The camp will meet at the pavilion near the upper tennis courts at Jackson City Park from 7 to 8:30 p.m. July 16 to 20. Info: Andrea Talley, 275-0976.

Two-mile run: The Deuces Wild 2-mile run will take place at 8 a.m. July 14 at Arena Park. Chip timing and music will be provided. Cost: $8 by June 14, $10 by July 1, $15 by July 12, $20 race day. Info: splitmastertiming.com.

Tennis

Local camps: A quick start tennis camp for boys and girls ages 5 to 7 will meet from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Cost: $15. An intermediate tennis camp for boys and girls ages 8 to 11 will meet from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Cost: $25. An advanced tennis camp for boys and girls ages 12 to 16 will meet from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost: $25. There also will be a tennis league from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays. Participation is on a drop-in bases and is free to players. It will begin June 16. To register for the camps, which begin this week, call Donna Ryan, 332-1614.
